This 5-day, 40-hour course prepares learners for the current CISSP exam and focuses on how to design, implement, and manage a best-in-class cybersecurity program across technical and governance domains.
The course is aligned to the current ISC2 CISSP exam outline and covers all eight domains: Security and Risk Management; Asset Security; Security Architecture and Engineering; Communication and Network Security; Identity and Access Management (IAM); Security Assessment and Testing; Security Operations; and Software Development Security.
Throughout the week, learners connect the domains to real-world enterprise environments, leadership decision-making, regulatory expectations, and risk-based security practices. Because CISSP spans both strategic and technical subject matter, this course combines governance and risk concepts with architecture, engineering, network security, identity, assessment, operations, and secure development topics.
It also helps learners understand the CISSP exam format, including Computerized Adaptive Testing (CAT), and the certification path after passing the exam.
To earn the CISSP certification after passing the exam, ISC2 requires a minimum of five years of cumulative, paid work experience in two or more of the eight CISSP domains. A post-secondary degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field, or an additional credential from the ISC2 approved list, may satisfy up to one year of the required experience. The current CISSP exam uses Computerized Adaptive Testing (CAT) and includes 100 to 150 multiple-choice and advanced item types. Candidates have 3 hours to complete the exam, and a scaled score of 700 out of 1,000 points is required to pass. The current domain weights are: Security and Risk Management (16%), Asset Security (10%), Security Architecture and Engineering (13%), Communication and Network Security (13%), Identity and Access Management (13%), Security Assessment and Testing (12%), Security Operations (13%), and Software Development Security (10%). ISC2 allows up to four attempts within a 12-month period with increasing wait times between attempts.
