The PMI-CPMAI exam has 120 total questions (100 scored, 20 pretest/unscored) with 160 minutes and no scheduled breaks. Domain weights: Support Responsible and Trustworthy AI Efforts (15%), Identify Business Needs and Solutions (26%), Identify Data Needs (26%), Manage AI Model Development and Evaluation (16%), Operationalize AI Solution (17%). Delivered through Pearson VUE in-person or online. Three attempts allowed within 12-month eligibility period. Maintained through 30 PDUs every three years.
Introduction to PMI-CPMAI, the need for AI project management, and the CPMAI methodology. Privacy and security planning, transparency, explainability, bias checks, governance, ethics, and trustworthy AI responsibilities.
Framing AI opportunities in business terms, matching AI patterns to organizational needs, feasibility and risk assessment, project scope definition, ROI and business-case analysis, and adoption and integration risks.
Defining data requirements, identifying data SMEs, locating data sources, coordinating AI infrastructure, gathering data, verifying privacy and compliance, evaluating data quality and bias, and communicating data-readiness findings.
Overseeing model-technique selection, model QA/QC, training oversight, data cleaning and transformation, validating data quality for go/no-go decisions, evaluating model performance, and documenting recommendations.
Creating deployment plans, coordinating production deployment, model governance, versioning, drift monitoring, KPI tracking, lessons learned, transition planning, and contingency management. Final exam readiness review.
